The Signia Insio IX: Experience Invisible Power and Clarity in Every Conversation

In a world filled with sound, every conversation matters. For those with mild to moderate hearing loss who refuse to let their hearing solution define their style, the Signia Insio IX offers a revolutionary blend of near-invisible design and cutting-edge technology. As part of Signia’s award-winning Integrated Xperience (IX) platform, the Insio IX is meticulously engineered to help you re-engage with life’s most important moments—especially the challenging ones, like group conversations in noisy environments .

The Epitome of Discretion and Comfort

True to the Insio legacy, the IX series is built for those who prioritize discretion. These are custom-made devices, crafted from a precise mold of your ear to ensure a fit that is not only snug and secure but also so comfortable you might forget you are wearing it . The Signia Insio IX is available in two primary custom styles to suit your level of desired invisibility and power needs:

  • Invisible-in-Canal (IIC): For the ultimate in discretion, the IIC model sits deep within your ear canal, making it virtually invisible from the outside. It is the perfect choice for users who want powerful hearing support without anyone knowing .

  • Completely-in-Canal (CIC): Slightly larger than the IIC, the CIC model remains incredibly discreet while offering additional features like an onboard push button for easy manual control of your listening programs .

Beyond these, the platform also offers In-the-Canal (ITC) and In-the-Ear (ITE) models for those who prefer a slightly larger device with enhanced control options and dual-microphone technology .

Core Technology: Engineered for Conversations

What truly sets the Signia Insio IX apart is the advanced technology housed within its tiny shell. The IX platform is designed to solve the oldest problem for hearing aid users: understanding speech in noise.

Real-Time Conversation Enhancement

The Insio IX ITE/ITC models feature dual microphones that power Signia’s groundbreaking RealTime Conversation Enhancement . Unlike traditional aids that amplify everything, this intelligent system actively tracks and enhances multiple speakers in real-time. It helps your brain focus on the person you are looking at, even in complex, noisy group settings where life happens .

Binaural OneMic Directionality 2.0

For the smaller IIC and CIC models, which utilize a single microphone due to their size, Signia incorporates Binaural OneMic Directionality 2.0 . This innovative feature allows the two hearing aids to wirelessly work together to create a focused, directional beam. It effectively reduces background noise from behind and beside you, ensuring that the conversation in front of you remains crystal clear .

Own Voice Processing (OVP)

One of the most unnatural aspects of older hearing aids is the way the wearer’s own voice sounds. The Insio IX includes Own Voice Processing, which uses built-in sensors to distinguish between your voice and external noise. This allows the device to process your voice naturally, delivering a more authentic and pleasant experience when you speak, eliminating that “talking in a barrel” feeling .

Power and Connectivity in a Tiny Package

The Signia Insio IX adapts to your lifestyle, offering flexibility in how you power and control your devices.

Rechargeable vs. Disposable

You have the freedom to choose the power source that fits you best .

  • Insio Charge&Go IX: For ultimate convenience, the rechargeable models offer all-day power from a single charge. A quick charge provides hours of use, and the sleek, portable charging case ensures you never run out of battery while on the go .

  • Disposable Battery Models: If you prefer the simplicity of traditional batteries, these models use a size 10A battery, providing up to 90 hours of use per battery, making them ideal for travelers or those who prefer not to worry about charging .

Smart App Control

Despite their small size, controlling the Insio IX is simple and intuitive. By downloading the free Signia App, you can turn your smartphone into a powerful remote control .

  • Remote Adjustments: Easily adjust volume, change programs, and fine-tune sound balance to suit your environment.

  • Signia Assistant: This AI-powered assistant built into the app learns your preferences and offers personalized sound adjustments in real-time .

  • Innovative Connectivity: Because the ultra-small IIC and CIC devices fit so deeply in the ear, the human head can block standard Bluetooth signals. To get around this, the Signia app uses high-frequency audio tones to communicate with the hearing aids, allowing for seamless adjustments without needing a large Bluetooth antenna in the device .

Who is the Signia Insio IX For?

This line is ideally suited for adults with mild to severe hearing loss who:

  • Value Aesthetics: They want a device that is invisible or nearly invisible to others.

  • Lead Active Social Lives: They struggle to hear in restaurants, parties, or family gatherings and need technology that cuts through noise.

  • Wear Glasses or Masks: Custom in-the-ear devices sit in the ear canal and do not interfere with eyewear or face masks, unlike behind-the-ear styles .

  • Desire Modern Technology: They appreciate the convenience of AI-driven sound adjustments and app-based control .

Additional Information

What exactly is a CROS device and how does the Signia CROS IX help with single-sided deafness?

A CROS device is designed for people who have profound hearing loss in one ear that cannot be helped by a standard hearing aid. The Signia CROS IX is a transmitter worn on your "bad" ear. It captures all the sound from that side and wirelessly streams it to a compatible Signia IX hearing aid worn on your "good" ear. This allows you to hear sounds coming from your impaired side, giving you a sense of balanced, 360-degree hearing again.

Who is the ideal candidate for the Signia CROS IX?

This device is ideal for individuals with Single-Sided Deafness (SSD) or those with unaidable hearing loss in one ear. It is perfect if you have one ear with normal hearing or mild loss (using a standard Signia IX aid) and one ear where a hearing aid provides no benefit. If you also have significant hearing loss in your better ear, your Hearing Care Professional might recommend a BiCROS solution, where the "good" ear also gets amplification.

Can I use the Signia CROS IX transmitter by itself, or do I need another device?

The CROS transmitter cannot be used alone. It is a companion device that must be paired with a compatible Signia IX receiver hearing aid worn on your better-hearing ear. It is designed to pair with popular models from the IX family, including the Styletto IX, Pure C&G IX, and Silk IX.

How do I properly insert and remove the CROS IX transmitter?

Insertion is simple. Hold the receiver cable at the bend near the earpiece, gently push the earpiece into your ear canal, and twist it slightly until it sits comfortably. Open and close your mouth to avoid air buildup, then lift the device and slide it over the top of your ear. To remove it, gently pull your earlobe and take the device out. For Silk IX models (CIC), use the removal cord by pulling it gently towards the back of your head.

What is the best way to clean and maintain my CROS IX device?

Daily cleaning is key. Wipe your device every day with a soft, dry tissue. Never use water or cleaning solvents, as they can damage the electronics. Pay special attention to the charging contacts—wipe them dry and clean before placing the device in the charger to prevent corrosion. For the earpieces, clean them right after removal to prevent earwax from hardening.

How do I charge the device and how long does the battery last?

The Signia CROS IX features a convenient USB charger (usually a portable charging case). Simply place the device in the charger, ensuring the charging contacts align. A full charge typically provides all-day battery life. When the battery is low, you will hear an alert signal repeated every 20 minutes, giving you about 1.5 hours to recharge it before it stops working.

Can I control the CROS IX with my smartphone?

Yes. While the CROS transmitter itself doesn't have Bluetooth for streaming music, it connects to the Signia App via the receiver hearing aid. This allows you to discreetly adjust the volume, change programs, and personalize your hearing experience directly from your smartphone.

How will I know if the transmitter is on and working?

You will know the device is active through audio cues. When you remove it from the charger, a startup melody plays in the hearing aid on your good ear. Similarly, if the battery is running low, the hearing aid will beep with a specific signal tone to alert you.

Will this help me hear better in noisy places like restaurants?

Yes. Built on Signia's Integrated Xperience (IX) platform, the CROS IX is designed to provide crystal-clear speech clarity even in complex, noisy environments. It uses advanced signal processing to enhance speech coming from your bad side and deliver it to your good ear, making conversations in crowds or restaurants much more manageable.

How do I turn off the CROS IX transmitter?

To completely power down the device, press and hold the rocker switch for several seconds until you hear a power-down melody. Alternatively, placing it in the powered charger will also turn it off for short-term storage. However, if you turn it off via a smartphone app, it may enter a standby mode and still draw a small amount of power.
