Signia Silk Charge and Go IX — Full Product Overview
Overview
The Signia Silk Charge and Go IX stands out as the smallest rechargeable, ready-to-wear completely-in-canal (CIC) hearing aid available today. Debuted toward the end of 2023 and showcased at CES 2024 — where it earned a Best of Innovation Award — this device is built on Signia’s advanced Integrated Xperience (IX) platform. It caters specifically to individuals experiencing mild to moderate hearing loss. Among the very few invisible hearing aids offering built-in rechargeability, the Signia Silk Charge and Go IX continues a legacy that even royalty has embraced in earlier generations.
Design and Appearance
The Signia Silk Charge and Go IX fits entirely within the ear canal, making it virtually undetectable to others. It comes in two faceplate finishes — Mocha and Black — and features a soft, textured exterior that minimizes light reflection for added discretion. The faceplate has no battery door, resulting in a sleeker look and improved resistance to moisture, dust, and debris. With an IP68 waterproof rating, the Signia Silk Charge and Go IX is the first CIC hearing aid to achieve this level of protection. Remarkably, its dimensions remain nearly identical to the earlier non-rechargeable Silk X model — a notable engineering milestone.
Fit and Comfort
Designed for on the point use, the Signia Silk Charge and Go IX uses EarWear 3.0 ultra-soft silicone sleeves that provide comfortable once its out of the box. Multiple sizes and styles of pre-fitted click-sleeves are included, eliminating the need for custom ear impressions or lengthy fitting appointments. For those who prefer a more tailored experience, custom earmold options are also available. Additionally, Own Voice Processing (OVP) technology helps users adapt by reducing the artificial sound of their own voice during the initial wearing period.
Battery and Charging
A single charge of the Signia Silk Charge and Go IX delivers up to 28 hours of use, with a full recharge completed in roughly 4 hours. The device comes paired with a compact portable charging case that doubles as a power bank, capable of providing up to four additional charges on the go. The case supports both wireless Qi charging and conventional wired charging for added convenience.
Sound Processing Technology
The Signia Silk Charge and Go IX incorporates several advanced audio processing features:
- Dynamic Soundscape Processing 3.0 — Analyzes acoustic data, noise levels, and signal-to-noise ratios, processing up to 192,000 data points per second to continuously track multiple voices in shifting environments.
- Binaural OneMic Directionality 2.0 — Despite having a single microphone per ear due to the CIC form factor, both hearing aids share data to maintain a focused directional listening pattern, prioritizing speech from the front.
- SpeechStabilizer — Maintains the natural characteristics of speech even in demanding, noisy conditions.
- Speech and Noise Management — Reduces listening fatigue through intelligent sound filtering.
- e2e Wireless 4.0 — Handles binaural synchronization, CROS/BiCROS compatibility, and a wide range of audio features.
- Extended Bandwidth — 12 kHz processing bandwidth for improved high-frequency sound clarity (7IX tier only).
- Auto EchoShield — Automatically minimizes the impact of reverberation and sudden loud sounds (7IX only).
- SoundSmoothing™ — Softens abrupt, jarring impact sounds such as clattering dishes.
- eWindScreen™ — Suppresses outdoor wind noise interference.
- Extended Dynamic Range — 117 dB input with 24-bit processing for accurate reproduction of both quiet and loud sounds.
- Feedback Cancellation — Real-time monitoring and suppression of feedback across individual processing channels.
Connectivity and User Control
The Signia Silk Charge and Go IX is compatible with the Signia App on both iOS and Android, enabling remote adjustments and personalized sound tuning via high-frequency coded signals rather than Bluetooth. TeleCare functionality allows users to connect remotely with hearing care professionals through text, phone, or video. An optional miniPocket keychain remote is also available for those who prefer physical controls. It’s worth noting that the Signia Silk Charge and Go IX does not support direct Bluetooth audio streaming, so music and phone calls cannot be transmitted directly to the device.
Tinnitus Management
For users dealing with tinnitus, the Signia Silk Charge and Go IX offers several therapeutic options:
- Ocean Waves Therapy Signal — Four preset soundscapes inspired by ocean sounds to provide relief.
- Static Therapy Signal — Up to 20 channels and 5 preset gentle noise options, varying by model tier.
- Notch Therapy — Signia’s proprietary tinnitus solution, particularly effective for tonal tinnitus (available from 2IX tier and above).
- Tinnitus Noise Therapy Manager — Offers a choice between traditional noise therapy, amplified notch therapy, or a blended approach.
Fitting and Customization
Audiologists fitting the Signia Silk Charge and Go IX have access to a robust suite of professional tools, including up to 48 processing channels (7IX), configurable hearing programs, HD Music Programs, CROS/BiCROS support, Frequency Compression, Smart Optimizer, Data Logging, Acclimatization Manager, InSituGram threshold measurement, and AutoFit™ — which automatically generates an optimized real-ear insertion gain without manual adjustment, significantly streamlining the verification process.

Additional Information
A CROS device is designed for people who have profound hearing loss in one ear that cannot be helped by a standard hearing aid. The Signia CROS IX is a transmitter worn on your "bad" ear. It captures all the sound from that side and wirelessly streams it to a compatible Signia IX hearing aid worn on your "good" ear. This allows you to hear sounds coming from your impaired side, giving you a sense of balanced, 360-degree hearing again.
This device is ideal for individuals with Single-Sided Deafness (SSD) or those with unaidable hearing loss in one ear. It is perfect if you have one ear with normal hearing or mild loss (using a standard Signia IX aid) and one ear where a hearing aid provides no benefit. If you also have significant hearing loss in your better ear, your Hearing Care Professional might recommend a BiCROS solution, where the "good" ear also gets amplification.
The CROS transmitter cannot be used alone. It is a companion device that must be paired with a compatible Signia IX receiver hearing aid worn on your better-hearing ear. It is designed to pair with popular models from the IX family, including the Styletto IX, Pure C&G IX, and Silk IX.
Insertion is simple. Hold the receiver cable at the bend near the earpiece, gently push the earpiece into your ear canal, and twist it slightly until it sits comfortably. Open and close your mouth to avoid air buildup, then lift the device and slide it over the top of your ear. To remove it, gently pull your earlobe and take the device out. For Silk IX models (CIC), use the removal cord by pulling it gently towards the back of your head.
Daily cleaning is key. Wipe your device every day with a soft, dry tissue. Never use water or cleaning solvents, as they can damage the electronics. Pay special attention to the charging contacts—wipe them dry and clean before placing the device in the charger to prevent corrosion. For the earpieces, clean them right after removal to prevent earwax from hardening.
The Signia CROS IX features a convenient USB charger (usually a portable charging case). Simply place the device in the charger, ensuring the charging contacts align. A full charge typically provides all-day battery life. When the battery is low, you will hear an alert signal repeated every 20 minutes, giving you about 1.5 hours to recharge it before it stops working.
Yes. While the CROS transmitter itself doesn't have Bluetooth for streaming music, it connects to the Signia App via the receiver hearing aid. This allows you to discreetly adjust the volume, change programs, and personalize your hearing experience directly from your smartphone.
You will know the device is active through audio cues. When you remove it from the charger, a startup melody plays in the hearing aid on your good ear. Similarly, if the battery is running low, the hearing aid will beep with a specific signal tone to alert you.
Yes. Built on Signia's Integrated Xperience (IX) platform, the CROS IX is designed to provide crystal-clear speech clarity even in complex, noisy environments. It uses advanced signal processing to enhance speech coming from your bad side and deliver it to your good ear, making conversations in crowds or restaurants much more manageable.
To completely power down the device, press and hold the rocker switch for several seconds until you hear a power-down melody. Alternatively, placing it in the powered charger will also turn it off for short-term storage. However, if you turn it off via a smartphone app, it may enter a standby mode and still draw a small amount of power.
